There are many community groups working in the St George and Redfield area. This page gives a small amount of information about them and links to their websites. If you belong to, or know of other groups, please let us know and we will add them to this page.
FRIENDS OF ST GEORGE PARK
This is a community group formed by a group of local residents to improve and promote St George Park.

CHURCH ROAD ACTION GROUP
This group is made up of businesses in Church Road, and residents of the area around who use Church road as a centre for local shopping.
The aim of the group is to keep Church Road as one of the main shopping centres for the city, by improving the environment and trying to make sure that people want to shop here.
The group works with council departments and the Police to ensure that anything raised by local people is dealt with promptly and in a way that helps to improve the shopping experience.

FRIENDS OF TROOPERS HILL
The Friends of Troopers is a group of local volunteers, who work in partnership with Bristol City Council to manage and look after Troopers Hill Local Nature Reserve.

ST. GEORGE NEIGHBOURHOOD PARTNERSHIP
The Neighbourhood partnership has been set up by the council, but is run by local residents. Neighbourhood Partnerships are well placed to consider local concerns. They bring together local councillors, neighbourhood police teams, community groups and local residents to shape services such as street cleaning, park maintenance, local recycling schemes, minor traffic schemes, highway maintenance and community safety. They also have a fund to help local community charities and orgainisations.

CURRENT COUNCIL CONSULTATIONS
AREA GREEN SPACES PLAN
This consultation is running until 29th October 2010. The council are seeking your views on the Green Spaces in Bristol. The ideas and options presented will help implement the aims of the strategy and make improvements that concern local residents most, such as providing new and improved children's play areas, improving accessibility, and making spaces safer. Please see here for more information.
This consultation also includes a Site Allocations Plan - please see here for more information.
Questionnaires accompany the documents and there are drop in consultations from noon to 8pm on Monday 26th July at Summerhill Methodist Church and Monday, 4th October at Rose Green Sports and Leisure Centre. This includes proposals for St George Park.
